Living Proof Straight Making No Frizz Styling Cream

I have straight hair. After my hair is blow dried at the salon, it looks AWESOME. Perfectly smooth, shiny, beautiful! After I blow dry my hair at home, it looks MUCH LESS AWESOME.  I thought it was my hair dryer so I got a salon-grade one. Nope. I’ve tried numerous styling products that my hairdresser used. Nope. I’ve tried various brushes, ionic wands, and shampoos/conditioners.  No change. I came to the sad conclusion that I AM A HAIR-STYLING MORON. Me no good at hair.

However, I came across a sample of Living Proof Straight Making No Frizz Styling Cream (for Medium to Thick Hair) and tried it. The cream is thick. Scary thick. I worried that putting it in my hair would result in droopy, greasy locks of goo. But after I blew my hair dry, it looked much smoother than ever before, thick, voluminous, just all-around more polished and not at all heavy.

I decided to get the full product (warning $$$, about $24 for 4 oz- yikes) and have been using it for a couple of weeks. It makes a definite difference.  The product makers say they use special new anti-frizz technology to combat humidity and friction, AND that it repels dirt and oil so you can go longer between shampoos. I haven’t noticed the latter (I push it as it is) but my hair is noticeably softer and sleeker. I have noticed that I no longer have an electromagnetic forcefield around my head after removing hats.

Is it worth the hefty price? For me, to look like a non-hair moron and actually half-glam is worth it. Not just worth it, but a public eyesore prevention measure.

Leave the beach at the beach

Kids covered from head to toe in sticky sand? Reach in your diaper bag for the Baby Powder, give them a good shake-down (with the powder, that is) and “Poof!” they’ll be clean as a whistle (and smelling powder fresh to boot!)
