It turns out daughter F. has inherited more from me than my whims of steel (she’s a stubborn thing!): sensitive skin. She’s had eczema on and off since soon after birth, while I’ve had it on and off since the Reagan administration. I am careful about what I put on my skin and I have a very minimal skin care routine, following the “less-is-more” dictum. But I’ve recently added Arbonne Baby Care Body Lotion to my routine and my daughter’s.
The first thing I noticed about it was its mild, citrusy scent. If a lotion is too strongly perfumed, chances are it is not gentle – no matter what the bottle says. This lotion is scented, but the fruit oil scents fall far down on the list of ingredients. My skin really soaks this stuff up, especially with the air turning colder and dryer, yet it doesn’t leave a greasy shine. I can put it on and still feel like I can go out in public without people mistaking me for an android, unlike when I use some other very heavy, Crisco-like lotions designed for eczema.
This lotion does not have a suncreen, nor does it need to. (Sunscreens are another issue for me.) It’s a light, basic lotion that will moisturize your skin, and baby’s.
